From the Dragon like creature found in China, to one of the best Fossil exhibits in the world, these are 11 AMAZING Fossil Discoveries!

Canadian Fish Fossils-- While digging a basement for a new home in Alberta Canada, Edgar Nernberg discovered five fish fossil specimens in nearly perfect condition were concealed in the sandstone. Researchers aid the fish fossil specimens were found in a block of sandstone in an approximate 60-million-year-old rock formation called the Paskapoo Formation underlying Calgary. A local paleontologist claimed that the ancient fossil fish have importance due to their being primitive representatives of a large group of bony fish of the modern era. While we didn’t get the exact species of these fossil fish, one key element to keep in mind is their age, estimated at 60 million years old. It’s ironic because Edgar Nernberg, the man who discovered them is actually on the board of directors for Big Valley’s Creation Science Museum … a creationist museum that believes the Earth is only 6,000 years old.

Dino Tail -- The five-yard long fossilized tail of a dinosaur was discovered by villagers in a Mexican desert in 2013. It was described as “unusually well preserved” and was the first ever dinosaur tail found in Mexico. The 72-million year old fossil tail belonged to a hadrosaur, known as duck-billed dinosaurs, due to the resemblance of their heads to that of modern ducks. Found in the Coahuila state, archaeologists found 50 vertebrae in the animal’s tail completely intact … and also found additional fossilized bones at the site, including one of the hadrosaur’s hips. Researchers believe the discovery could help better understand hydrosaurs, which were thought to range in size from 10 to 65 feet long, and lived during the later Cretaceous Period. Interesting that they only found the tail of this beast … makes you wonder what happened to the rest of it!

Think it could be a scene from Jurassic Park? Thousands of bird fossils from the dinosaur era were unearthed in northeast Burma in 2016. Close to 100 million years old, the fossils belong to ancestors of modern birds … despite the age, feathers of of the birds are perfectly preserved after millions of years in amber … and show no major deviation from the anatomical makeup of today’s birds. Overall, thousands of specimens of feathers were discovered, including tiny bird wings, measuring between two to three centimeters long. The huge haul of fossils was discovered in an area of Burma that has yielded thousands of specimens of scorpions, spiders, lizards, in addition to isolated feathers. It’s believed that this is the first time entire portions of birds have been discovered.

Dragon of Qijiang (k’jang) -- Construction workers in southern China discovered the fossils of a dinosaur the lived around 160 million years ago. The workers were digging in Qijiang City when they hit a row of large neck vertebrae that stretched out in the ground. Paleontologists reconstructing the skeleton claim that up to half of the animal’s 49-foot length is accounted for by the neck. Most sauropods, or long-necked dinosaurs had necks measuring only around one-third of their body length. While it’s hard to imagine the animal being able to even lift a neck that long, the animal had air pockets within the massive bones of its vertebrae … meaning that, despite it’s enormous size, the neck was relatively lightweight. Scientists think that fossils such as this may have given rise to the legend of serpent-like dragons that persist throughout China. The dinosaur was named Qijianglong (k’jang-long) … meaning, dragon of Qijiang.

In 2014, the North Sea yielded the skeleton of a wooly mammoth as a group of researchers trawled waters off the east coast of Rotterdam at depths of 100 feet. The area was a stretch of low-lying icy tundra some 40,000 years ago when the animal was alive … Researchers believe the animals used an ancient landmass known as Doggerland, a vast tundra that stretched between Europe and Britain. While scientists said it’s extremely rare to find skulls of mammoths and large bones on the seabed, it’s not uncommon to to find bones of extinct creatures by dredging. The mammoth’s skull was initially found in 2010 … and it’s thought the animal measured up to 11 feet tall. North Sea Fossils, the research company that found the mammoth, also found the bones of Irish elk, woolly rhinos, and the prehistoric skull of a European bison.

We are constantly fed the idea through newspapers, magazines, museums and text books the belief that fossils and rocks petrify over millions of years. Richard and Calvin discuss how this concept has been debunked by evolutionary scientists which means that the rocks and fossils we find on the earth could easily have formed in the 4,500 years since Noah's Flood.

Living fossils are fossilized animals and plants that look similar to modern organisms. Random mutations would have been occurring in creatures throughout such supposed vast time periods separating the assumed ancient and modern organisms. How then would 'living fossils' remain unchanged over supposed hundreds of millions of years, if evolution has changed worms into humans in the same time frame?

The octopus genome and the evolution of cephalopod neural and morphological novelties. Caroline B. Albertin et al (2015), Nature http://dx.doi.org/10.1038/nature14668

Coleoid cephalopods (octopus, squid and cuttlefish) are active, resourceful predators with a rich behavioural repertoire. They have the largest nervous systems among the invertebrates and present other striking morphological innovations including camera-like eyes, prehensile arms, a highly derived early embryogenesis and a remarkably sophisticated adaptive colouration system. To investigate the molecular bases of cephalopod brain and body innovations, we sequenced the genome and multiple transcriptomes of the California two-spot octopus, Octopus bimaculoides. We found no evidence for hypothesized whole-genome duplications in the octopus lineage. The core developmental and neuronal gene repertoire of the octopus is broadly similar to that found across invertebrate bilaterians, except for massive expansions in two gene families previously thought to be uniquely enlarged in vertebrates: the protocadherins, which regulate neuronal development, and the C2H2 superfamily of zinc-finger transcription factors. Extensive messenger RNA editing generates transcript and protein diversity in genes involved in neural excitability, as previously described7, as well as in genes participating in a broad range of other cellular functions. We identified hundreds of cephalopod-specific genes, many of which showed elevated expression levels in such specialized structures as the skin, the suckers and the nervous system. Finally, we found evidence for large-scale genomic rearrangements that are closely associated with transposable element expansions. Our analysis suggests that substantial expansion of a handful of gene families, along with extensive remodelling of genome linkage and repetitive content, played a critical role in the evolution of cephalopod morphological innovations, including their large and complex nervous systems.

In this episode Richard Fangrad and Calvin Smith discuss common misconceptions about the geologic column and the fossils it contains. Many people remember being taught that the fossil record shows a progression of evolution over millions of years, with a certain fixed order of fossils showing a lineage of simpler to more complex forms. Recent findings that have forced a rethinking of evolutionary assumptions that overthrow the idea that fossils are never found 'out of place'.

This has been debunked. Real footage here
http://youtube.com/watch?v=D9Qsdxye6Yc&feature=player_embedded

The Sun Reports:

The animal -- thought to have mostly died out roughly 4,000 years ago -- was apparently filmed wading through a river in the freezing wilds of Siberia.

The jaw-dropping footage was caught by a government-employed engineer last summer in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug region of Siberia, it is claimed.

He filmed the elephant-sized creature as it struggled against the racing water.

Its hair matches samples recovered from mammoth remains regularly dug up from the permafrost in frozen Russia.

The official was reportedly in the area surveying for a planned road.

Paranormal writer Michael Cohen said: "Rumours of a handful of mammoths still kicking around in the vast wilderness of Siberia have been circulating for decades and occasionally sightings by locals have occurred.

"Siberia is an enormous territory and much of it remains completely unexplored and untouched by humans. "

Woolly mammoths roamed the Earth 10,000 years ago during the last Ice Age.

A small pocket remained on and around Wrangel Island, off the coast of Siberia, and these did not die out until 3,500 years ago.

Mr Cohen, 41, added: "It is highly possible that a number of species, extinct elsewhere, survive in the area.

"If surviving woolly mammoths were found in Siberia, it could run against Russia's plans to further develop and exploit the area's considerable resources.

"It would be potentially one of the greatest discoveries ever."

But viewers are divided on the nature of the animal seen in the video. Some have dismissed it as a hoax while others reckon it is an elephant lost in the Siberian wilderness. The third theory is the sighting shows a bear eating a huge fish. What do you think?

Noah's Ark was the focus of a 1993 study headed by Dr. Seon Hong at the ship research center KRISO, based
in Daejeon, South Korea. Dr. Hong's team compared 12 hulls of different proportions to discover which design
was most practical. No hull shape was found to significantly outperform the 4,300-year-old biblical design. In
fact, the Ark's careful balance is easily lost if the proportions are modified, rendering the vessel either unstable,
prone to fracture, or dangerously uncomfortable.

The Ark has long been the atheist's favorite object of ridicle. Instead of responding with factual evidence, many intimidated Christians [closet Christians] are left cowering in their pews, wondering. Is the Biblical account of the and Noah's ark really credible. Can a trully honest person believe it? Is there any evidence that such a flood ever happened? Could all those animals fit in the ark? Could it have been a local flood? What about the possible eye witness accounts claiming the ark still exists on Mt. Ararat? Could it still be there?

These challenges are addressed by Dr. Patton fairly, Biblically and factually. They are answered in a way that sustains and strengthens faith in God' word.

Antarctic octopods are able to survive freezing weather, as low as -1 celsius, thanks to a blue pigment in its blood. But why? Researcher from the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research in Germany studied how the pigment, hemocyanin, can keep octopods' oxygen moving, despite the sub-zero temperatures.

How are the octopods (Pareledone charcoti) genetically different? And why? Kim Horcher and Cara Santa Maria discuss the blue blood.

According to recent study by researchers at the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom, working with the American Museum of Natural History, ancient ancestors of modern day arachnids like spiders and scorpions had two sets of eyes, instead of just one. This new data is based on fossil evidence from Eastern France of the species known as harvestmen or daddy longlegs, which is a species of arachnid ancestor that lived around 305 million years ago, and still survives in an evolved form today.

Results of x-ray imaging revealed that the ancient harvestmen had one pair of median eyes in the center of their head, and another lateral pair of eyes on the side of their head.

Modern harvestmen only have one set of eyes, but genetic analysis of their embryos revealed the remnants of what used to be the genes responsible for the second set of eyes in their ancestor species.

Russell Garwood, a paleontologist at the University of Manchester is quoted as saying: "These findings represent a significant leap in our understanding of the evolution of this group."

Terrestrial arthropods are reportedly difficult animals to study because their bodies don't preserve well, so the fossil record is scarce.

greghar2003 has made a comment on Octopus Cold Adaptation Surprises Scientists:
George Gaylord Simpson, perhaps the most influential paleontologist of the 20th century and a major contributor of the modern evolutionary synthesis, wrote in The meaning of evolution, p. 326., "It has been suggested that all animals are now specialized and that the generalized forms on which major evolutionary developments depend are absent. In fact, all animals have always been more or less specialized and a really generalized living form is merely a myth or an abstraction."
Real Science with the usual Weasel Words
The octopus traditionally, plural: octopuses, see below) is a cephalopod mollusc of the order Octopoda. Octopuses have two eyes and four pairs of arms, and like other cephalopods they are bilaterally symmetric. An octopus has a hard beak, with its mouth at the center point of the arms. Octopuses have no internal or external skeleton (although some species have a vestigial {Weasel Word] remnant of a shell inside their mantle), allowing them to squeeze through tight places. Octopuses are among the most intelligent and behaviorally flexible of all invertebrates.

📺 soft tissue in dino fossils-nothing in science can allow this to be millions of years old
TruthIsLife7 📤 7 years ago 2010-12-08
Dr. Mary Schweitzer and her research assistants were working on a T-rex dinosaur fossil and saw medullary tissue (showing that the T-rex had been pregnant). Because no one had ever found this tissue in a dinosaur fossil before, she told her assistant to soak it in acid to be able to study the structures better. When they tried this new approach, they were stunned to find blood vessels, bone matrix and elastic tissues in the fossil, all soft tissues found somewhere they shouldn't be according to evolution. Schweitzer et al. also found evidence of degraded hemoglobin fragments and structures that might represent altered blood remnants.

She eventually published a number of papers (references and links below) which right from the first challenged the basic principles of fossilization by stating,
"Soft tissues and cell-like microstructures derived from skeletal elements of a well-preserved Tyrannosaurus rex (MOR 1125) were represented by four components in fragments of demineralized cortical and/or medullary bone: flexible and fibrous bone matrix; transparent, hollow and pliable blood vessels; intravascular material, including in some cases, structures morphologically reminiscent of vertebrate red blood cells; and osteocytes with intracellular contents and flexible filipodia."

Dr. Mary Schweitzer, states, "When you think about it, the laws of chemistry, biology and and everything else we know, say it should be gone, it should be degraded completely."
http://youtube.com/watch?v=MhN_ZXM_Ycg (~6:30)

Derrick Briggs, curator of invertebrate paleontology at the Peabody Museum at Yale University agrees saying, "Nobody was imaging that dinosaurs might have had preserved soft tissues... this was totally improbable....We have this clear understanding that part of all biological cycles involves decay. Nature's set up to break down that material and recycle it. So, it's just improbable that those kinds of very delicate structures would survive, particularly for millions of years."

He's also agreeing that nothing we can verify with science would allow soft tissue to last for millions of years. The obvious conclusion is that they are not millions of years as Creationists have said for long. Remember that evidence from your critics is one of the highest levels evidence you can get. Creationists have that in MANY areas. Evolutionists don't.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=kXfKCnDCf50

Leading evolution experts agree that nothing in science would make it possible for soft tissue to last more than ~100,000 years (http://youtube.com/watch?v=X2kMlm8ZFtI ~8:30)

Why don't we know of more soft tissues in fossils?
1) As. Dr. Schweitzer said, she used a new technique with acid to remove bones that almost no one had used before. If more used that method, we'd find more soft tissue in fossils. Dr. Kaye tried to replicate Dr. Schweitzer and found a very large amount of soft tissue with her technique just like she did.
2) There actually are quite a number of other soft tissue finds.
A) Soft tissue in fossilized salamandar.
http://creation.com/muscle-and-blood-in-fossil
http://physorg.com/news176660912.html

B) DNA extracted from bacteria that are supposed to be 425 million years old brings into question that age, because DNA could not last more than thousands of years.
http://creation.com/article/419

C) http://creation.com/a-165-million-year-surprise
and others.

3) Even evolutionists say that only a very few of biological forms that die become fossils and most of those are marine animals or were buried in water (things that make you go hmmm...when considering the flood story).
