What we believe about where we came from has implications for the question, "What is the meaning of life?" Consequently, creationists and evolutionists have very different answers to many "controversial" issues in the culture today. This Episode of Creation Magazine LIVE! explores the Christian/creationist position on "hot issues".

When CMI speakers are out speaking they are often challenged by fellow Christians that have become convinced of evolution and claim that God used evolution to create.
Richard and Calvin show what atheists and Bible sceptics say about this position (theistic evolution). Does adding millions of year of evolution to Genesis really help when sharing the Gospel? Watch and see!

Speciation and MacroevolutionSpeciation and Macroevolution
📺 Speciation and Macroevolution
BioLogos 📤 6 years ago 2012-02-27
In our final installment of this three part series, we move on to the question of speciation and macroevolution. A common challenge to evolutionary theory is that while life does indeed change over time (what is known as microevolution), no one has ever seen one species evolve into another species (what is known as macroevolution). For example, no one has seen a dog evolve into something other than a dog. Because speciation has never been observed, and because science is based on observation, evolution cannot be considered scientific.

In fact, examples of speciation have been observed by scientists. We must also remember that we are able to observe just a tiny window of the long history of life on Earth, and the fact that any speciation has been noted at all is impressive indeed.

Only Surtsey, the most southern island, is younger. The island was formed after a volcanic eruption in 1963, and was already protected as a natural conservation area during its formation. The Fastest Countries to Get CitizenshipThe Fastest Countries to Get Citizenship

The fastest countries to get citizenship - do you know what they are?

It's no wonder that more and more people are getting a second passport - having options in this rapidly changing world is a must.

What does second citizenship grant you?

Not only do you get more travel freedom, but this opens options for building a new life and business abroad, as well as having a second home country.

When you want dual citizenship, but don't have the means to invest in a country and get it in a matter of months, naturalization is the fastest way to obtain it.

Andrew talks about the countries that allow you to become a citizen in a relatively small amount of time without spending a fortune.

Countries like the Dominican Republic, Peru, and Uruguay are at the very top of the list.

#2 1:18 Dominican Republic
#3 1:36 Peru
#4 2:13 Uruguay

Though Argentina used to give the possibility of getting their citizenship within two years, the rules have changed in 2017.

Other countries you can take into consideration will require you to wait longer to become a citizen, which implies more time spent within their borders.

Russia and Paraguay are a great example of this system.

Of course, there will be a lot of bureaucracy involved, and no one can guarantee that you will get citizenship after exactly two or three years.

This is not an exact science, so patience and perseverance are absolutely crucial.

For more detailed talk about the fastest countries to get citizenship, take a look at one of our best articles:

ABOUT NOMAD CAPITALIST

Andrew Henderson travels to nearly 30 countries every year to stay up to date on the latest legal strategies for entrepreneurs and investors to pay less tax, grow their money faster, and build their personal freedom.

Andrew started Nomad Capitalist to help people like you follow his five magic words - Go where you're treated best. He has personally started foreign companies, opened offshore bank accounts, and obtained multiple second passports.

He also learned the hard way that perpetual information seeking is often the biggest barrier to getting the results you want. Many entrepreneurs spend months and even years constantly researching how to pay less in tax or live overseas, but are afraid to make the jump.

As a result, they get stuck and keep paying a fortune in taxes and never get the lifestyle they deserve.

Nomad Capitalist's Youtube channel is based on Andrew's vision that focusing on the end result, rather than the latest shiny object, is the best way to actually obtain the benefits of the Nomad Capitalist lifestyle.

Evolution The Evolution of Shape HD documentary
Evolution is the change in the inherited characteristics of biological populations over successive generations. Evolutionary processes give rise to diversity at every level of biological organisation, including species, individual organisms and molecules such as DNA and proteins.[1]
All life on Earth is descended from a last universal ancestor that lived approximately 3.8 billion years ago. Repeated speciation and the divergence of life can be inferred from shared sets of biochemical and morphological traits, or by shared DNA sequences.[2] These homologous traits and sequences are more similar among species that share a more recent common ancestor, and can be used to reconstruct evolutionary histories, using both existing species and the fossil record. Existing patterns of biodiversity have been shaped both by speciation and by extinction.[3]
Charles Darwin was the first to formulate a scientific argument for the theory of evolution by means of natural selection. Evolution by natural selection is a process inferred from three facts about populations: 1) more offspring are produced than can possibly survive, 2) traits vary among individuals, leading to different rates of survival and reproduction, and 3) trait differences are heritable.[4] Thus, when members of a population die they are replaced by the progeny of parents better adapted to survive and reproduce in the environment in which natural selection takes place. This process creates and preserves traits that are seemingly fitted for the functional roles they perform.[5] Natural selection is the only known cause of adaptation, but not the only known cause of evolution. Other, nonadaptive causes of evolution include mutation and genetic drift.[6]
In the early 20th century, genetics was integrated with Darwin's theory of evolution by natural selection through the discipline of population genetics. The importance of natural selection as a cause of evolution was accepted into other branches of biology. Moreover, previously held notions about evolution, such as orthogenesis and "progress" became obsolete.[7] Scientists continue to study various aspects of evolution by forming and testing hypotheses, constructing scientific theories, using observational data, and performing experiments in both the field and the laboratory. Biologists agree that descent with modification is one of the most reliably established facts in science.[8] Discoveries in evolutionary biology have made a significant impact not just within the traditional branches of biology, but also in other academic disciplines (e.g., anthropology and psychology) and on society at large.[9][10]

The island, which hosts a 300 square kilometer free zone jurisdiction, is 135 km long, and lies strategically in the Strait of Hormuz, just 60 kilometers from the Omani port of Khasab, and about 180 kilometers from the UAE Port Rashid. The island, at its widest point, located near the center of the island, spans 40 kilometers. Similarly, at it narrowest point, the island spans 9.4 kilometers. The island has a surface area of 1491 square kilometers and is 2.5 times the size of Bahrain. Qeshm city, located at the easternmost point of the island, is 22 kilometers from Bandar Abbas while the closest point of the island is but two kilometers from the mainland.
The average temperature on the island is approximately 27 °C. The warmest months are June through August, and the coldest from October to January. The average rainfall is 183.2 mm.
The island comprises 59 towns and villages and the population is approximately 100,000. The local population is involved in fishing, dhow construction, trade and services. An additional 30,000 are involved in administrative and industrial workforce and students.
Explorer William Baffin was mortally wounded on Qeshm in 1622 during a battle against Portuguese forces.
Plans have also been made to build a bridge to connect Qeshm with the rest of Iran.

The arrangement of the album 'journey' is also among his other music works.

Tahiti, Bermuda, Madeira, Bali. Everyone loves islands, but no one loves them more than an evolutionary biologist. From the dwarf elephants of Crete to the carnivorous caterpillars of Hawaii and the snaggly-fingered aye-aye of Madagascar, islands present a cornucopia of biodiversity. Darwin drew much of his inspiration from island stopovers on his fabled Beagle voyage, as did Alfred Russel Wallace on his own perambulations through the East Indies. Ever since Darwin and Wallace jointly proposed their theory of evolution by natural selection, biologists have returned to islands to gain fresh insights. Jonathan Losos will discuss the relevance of islands to our understanding of evolution and its processes.

"Island dwarfism" (aka insular dwarfism) is a phenomenon which applies mainly to large animals (especially mammals and dinosaurs) which have become isolated in areas of limited resources such as islands, oasis, desert mountain ranges and other such areas. In such locations large animals may become smaller over many generations. This change seems to be a response to limited resources as smaller animals need less and may thus be better adapted for survival. Examples of island dwarfs include small-sized crocodiles, tiny ground sloths, diminutive mammoth and fascinating miniature dinosaurs (all of the aforementioned animals are now extinct). Various populations of small people are also found on remote islands and within isolated locations in various parts of the world.

In contrast to "island dwarfism" there is a reverse condition called "island gigantism" in which animals may grow larger in absence of predators. The Dodo bird is an excellent example as the ancestors of this now extinct species were originally the size of a modern pigeon.

THE PATH OF WILDNESS

The Path of Wildness is easy to find
The course of a stream
Leaves blown in the wind
A beast's track through the brush
And the direction of our first inclination

The Path of Wildness is an answer and response to a prescribed way of life which may leave some individuals with a sense that their living is little more than a series of pre-determined, step-like episodes between birth and death. The stages of living between these events: childhood, adolescence, adulthood, parenthood and senior are themselves natural and in accord with the needs of the species and most individuals. Many find their satisfaction in living this course and to these individuals I have little or nothing to say. Others though long for something more; something innate, genetic and seemingly calling. Adventure and change can give a degree of satisfaction and relief yet even these may seem too tame. To those who feel drawn to something beyond the entertainment and stimulation of senses I offer a walk along The Path of Wildness. Don't bother penciling the event in your schedule, preparing a pack with goodies and supplies or even inviting a friend along, for this experience is along the course of your first inclination and you must surely always go alone.

Video 06 of the Introduction to Ethnobotany series. Presented by Will McClatchey.

Pacific island cultures have developed through a long series of migrations generally from the west to the east of the Pacific. Evidences of relationships between the current cultures can be found in their common languages, tool kits and food plants. The populating of the more isolated Eastern Pacific islands, including Tahiti ma, Hawai'i, Ao Tea Roa and Rapa Nui represents one of the greatest achievements of human history. Plants played key roles in the success of these events and in the independent evolution of the various Polynesian societies. This episode reviews some of the challenges faced in the colonization of remote Oceania and the positive and negative impacts of human settlement on plants and animals of various environments.

Paul Andersen explains how reproductive isolation can eventually lead to speciation. Three main barriers to gene flow are included: geographic, pre-zygotic and post-zygotic. Both allopatric and sympatric speciation are discussed. A brief discussing of polyploidy and punctuated equilibrium are also included.

Bugs serve multiple purposes on this planet. From pollinating plants to stinging and scaring the living daylights out of people, humans have a love/hate relationship with bugs. We need bugs to make the world go around, but at the same time, people would rather not deal with bugs especially if they bite, sting, or chase after you. It seems that the one common fear that mankind seems to share is the fear of some sort of bug, with spiders being the most common fear known as arachnophobia. The largest bugs in the world were known as the Protodonata, and they lived during the prehistoric period in the Paleozoic Era. They were large, dragon-fly like creatures who ruled the skies and plant life. They would be sure to put a scare in us all if we were to see them today.
As our existence continues to evolve and innovations in travel make it more possible to explore every nook and cranny in the world, more bugs have been found than ever before. In the early 20th century, the discovery of bugs such as the Queen Alexandra’s Birdwing incited fear and made people use guns to take it out of the sky. Turns out that this particular bug is the largest butterfly in the world with a wingspan of over one foot, enough to put a scare into anyone. There is a trend known as “island gigantism” where animals and bugs are found to be much larger on remote islands than one mass spaces of land like a continent. The giant weta is a perfect example of island gigantism, as it is the largest weta in the species and puts its relatives to shame.
A few years ago, a photo of a group of Marines from the United States in Afghanistan shocked the world and sent arachnophobes into high alerts when people saw the massively large camel spider. The story behind the photo was that the camel spider could disembowel camels, crawl into sleeping bags, and run at high speeds. Well, thankfully, the story was just rumor and speculation, and the camel spider wasn’t really as massively large as the photo made it look. But the story was enough to inspire people to do their own research on the largest bugs in the world, and the results do not disappoint. In fact, the results may just downright scare you into wanting to stay indoors for the rest of your life.
This video includes some of the largest bugs in the world. Some of them are so big that you have to wonder whether there was a chemical spill nearby to spawn these mutant-looking bugs. Whether you are enjoying this video from the Amazon, or in the comfort of your home in the suburbs, take caution next time you go outside. Luckily, just because a bug is large, it doesn’t mean that it’s dangerous or poisonous. Take heed, and maybe if you spot a giant weta, you can give it a carrot to enjoy.

Evolution - What Darwin Never Knew - NOVA PBS Documentary
Earth teems with a staggering variety of animals, including 9,000 kinds of birds, 28,000 types of fish, and more than 350,000 species of beetles. What explains this explosion of living creatures—1.4 million different species discovered so far, with perhaps another 50 million to go? The source of life's endless forms was a profound mystery until Charles Darwin brought forth his revolutionary idea of natural selection. But Darwin's radical insights raised as many questions as they answered. What actually drives evolution and turns one species into another? To what degree do different animals rely on the same genetic toolkit? And how did we evolve?

"What Darwin Never Knew" offers answers to riddles that Darwin couldn't explain. Breakthroughs in a brand-new science—nicknamed "evo devo"—are linking the enigmas of evolution to another of nature's great mysteries, the development of the embryo. NOVA takes viewers on a journey from the Galapagos Islands to the Arctic, and from the explosion of animal forms half a billion years ago to the research labs of today. Scientists are finally beginning to crack nature's biggest secrets at the genetic level. The results are confirming the brilliance of Darwin's insights while revealing clues to life's breathtaking diversity in ways the great naturalist could scarcely have imagined.

WHY YOU SHOULD AVOID FAST FOOD AT ALL COSTS

Excellent lecture from former witch, sorcerer, mason, illuminati and now professing Christian minister Bill Schnobelen on the western medical conspiracy which I've personally studied for decades and know to be true.

Bill covers the history of western allopathic medicine in good detail as well as herbs, nutrition, remedies for various common maladies and much more.

For many decades biologists have observed and recorded changes in animals isolated on islands away from mainland populations. Animals 'evolve' into smaller or larger varieties. Richard Fangrad and Calvin Smith discuss what the 'island rule' is and how it relates to the creation/evolution debate.
