Research in recent years by leading (evolutionist) geneticists has revealed catastrophically high mutation rates in humans. This would be a good thing if mutations really cause upward evolution. Instead the human race is plunging toward extinction. Based on data from genetics humans could not have been evolving for millions of years, we would already be extinct.

Mutations are leading the entire human race to extinction, at a rate that is incompatible with the notion that humans have been evolving for millions of years. Can something be done to stop or slow the rapid march to death? This episode again features Dr John Sanford and some main points from his brilliant summary of data from leading evolutionary human population geneticists.

Human Evolution has stopped
Many believe that because we have evolved, then it’s natural to assume the process will just continue like it has done since the beginnings of life over 3 billion years ago.
However, there are some are now saying that this may not be the case for humans and that in fact our own evolution may well have stopped.
Proponents of natural selection say that genetic innovations are only likely to become fixed in small, isolated populations.
For example, Darwin's famous Galápagos finches each evolved from their mainland ancestor to fit a unique habitat on the isolated islands in the Pacific.
However, the modern human race is now incredibly mobile and crossbreeding makes it much less likely for potentially significant mutations to become established in the gene pool.
The main way that evolution works is by natural selection or the survival of the fittest as Darwin stated but this mechanism is very much sidelined by humans because of the advances in medicine and health care.
The fittest will no longer spearhead evolutionary change, because, thanks to medical advances, the weakest also live can on and pass down their genes.

Humans Will Continue to Evolve
Whilst one group say human evolution is dead, Other scientists see plenty of evidence that human evolution is far from over.
Here are a couple of examples that are recent adaptations which are the first steps in further evolution.
1 Lactose tolerance in European peoples. Normally children lose the ability to digest the lactose in milk after they have been weaned. This leads to people having an intolerance to the lactose which makes them feel sick if the drink milk. This is true of many people from Asia......

Earthfiles 📤 5 months ago 2017-11-03
99% of all the species on Earth that have ever lived are now extinct. Earth's history has been marked by periodic mass extinctions of this planet's evolving life forms. The dinosaurs thrived for about 135 million years until a 6-mile-diameter asteroid slammed into the Gulf of Mexico 66 million years ago leaving the 12-mile-deep and 112-mile-wide Chicxulub crater.

The theory is that so much dirt and debris was exploded into the atmosphere that sunlight could not reach plants. Without food, 75% of Earth life on land and sea, including the dinosaurs, starved to death.

What’s becoming more clear is that this extinction event has been happening about every 26 to 30 million years for at least 260 million years, according to Michael Rampino, Ph.D., Professor of Geology at New York University; and his colleague Ken Caldeira, Ph.D., an atmospheric scientists at the Carnegie Institution for Science.

In the September 2015 Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, the two scientists showed new data about how the rate of craters on Earth have changed over time, specifically showing a cycle of impact craters that occur around the same time as mass extinction events.

The scientists’s hypothesis is that cycle hitting around every 26 to 30 million years is linked to the up and down motion of our Sun and solar system through the mid-plane of our Milky Way galaxy. That’s the densest part of our galaxy, filled with more matter and gravitational pull, so that when our sun and planets moves along that mid-plane axis, there will be gravitational perturbations all the way into the Kuiper Belt and Oort cloud of comets that surround our solar system. When that happens, comets get shaken into new orbits headed toward the inner solar system and increased chances of smashing into the planets, including Earth.

Question 4 in CMI's '15 Questions for Evolutionists' flyer challenges evolutionists to explain how natural selection can be the creative process evolutionists require. Natural selection explains the survival of the fittest, adaptation and variation within a kind leading to the great diversity of living things. It fits well with the biblical notion that God created life with the necessary programming to live in a variety of environments. Richard Fangrad and Calvin Smith discuss the question and the attempts to answer it.

In school we are taught that 'Mutations + Natural Selection = Evolution', but do genetic mutations really help evolution? Changes in DNA are supposed to provide the new functions that natural selection 'chooses' leading to the evolution of simply organisms into more complex ones. However, leading geneticists agree that mutations lead to extinction, not evolution into something better. This episode features portions of an interview with former evolutionary geneticist Dr John Sanford.

SPECIATION is the evolutionary process by which new biological species arise. The biologist Orator F. Cook seems to have been the first to coin the term 'speciation' for the splitting of lineages or 'cladogenesis,' as opposed to 'anagenesis' or 'phyletic evolution' occurring within lineages.

Whether genetic drift is a minor or major contributor to speciation is the subject of much ongoing discussion. There are four geographic modes of speciation in nature, based on the extent to which speciating populations are geographically isolated from one another: allopatric, peripatric, parapatric, and sympatric. Speciation may also be induced artificially, through animal husbandry or laboratory experiments. Observed examples of each kind of speciation are provided throughout.

---

In biology and ecology, EXTINCTION is the end of an organism or group of taxa. The moment of extinction is generally considered to be the death of the last individual of that species (although the capacity to breed and recover may have been lost before this point). Because a species' potential range may be very large, determining this moment is difficult, and is usually done retrospectively. This difficulty leads to phenomena such as Lazarus taxa, where a species presumed extinct abruptly "re-appears" (typically in the fossil record) after a period of apparent absence.

Through evolution, new species arise through the process of speciation—where new varieties of organisms arise and thrive when they are able to find and exploit an ecological niche—and species become extinct when they are no longer able to survive in changing conditions or against superior competition.

A typical species becomes extinct within ten million years of its first appearance, although some species, called living fossils, survive virtually unchanged for hundreds of millions of years. Extinction, though, is usually a natural phenomenon; it is estimated that 99.9% of all species that have ever lived are now extinct.

Mass extinctions are relatively rare events, however, isolated extinctions are quite common. Several extinctions during the Holocene extinction have been attributed to the rise of human activity; however, there is no clear consensus among the scientific community on the effect of human activity on extinctions. Only recently have extinctions been recorded and scientists have become alarmed at the high rates of recent extinctions. It is estimated most species that go extinct have never been documented by scientists. Some scientists estimate that up to half of presently existing species may become extinct by 2100.

The future of human beings
Homo sapiens, the name for you, myself and ever human being that exists on our planet, we evolved from Africa about 200,000 years ago and carried on evolving until we became what we are today.but are we still evolving? Well the earth is predicted to be around about 4.55 billion years old. So in the grand scale of things our species is still very young. other humanlike creatures where around long before us, the oldest humanoid fossil was dated back to 4.4 million years ago. But because we as a race have developed this modern world of technology ultimately to make our lives easier, has this stopped us from evolving further? Evolution is when genetic changes or adaptions occur when genes mutate and combine in different ways during reproduction. This is normally to help the species survive or reproduce more effectively and happens more frequently in a population. When these changes occur they become more common across the population giving an advantage to survive. So if the purpose of evolution to to survive and reproduce, do we need to evolve any more? Are we above natural selection? Well Human beings still have many reasons to evolve, some of these might be the abilities to be immune to certain modern viruses or the abilities to be immune to high cholesterol or heart disease. Our lives are constantly changing and our body's will adapt to some of these changes. One great example of modern evolution is the ability to digest Dairy. Originally humans could only digest there mothers milk due to a gene that would eventually shut down when the child was weaned off the milk. But when we started to domesticate animals such as cows, humans evolved to have tolerance for lactose. This is thought to of happened due to the nutrients that milk would carry giving those humans a natural advantage to survive. It is thought that this ability was still developing as early as 3000 years ago. So we are still evolving and scientists think we are doing it faster than ever before. In the last 10,000 years the pace of evolution has sped up 100 times. So what does this mean for the human race? Well other than drinking milk and resisting diseases better, scientists think we are also losing our wisdom teeth and surprising that our brains are getting smaller. The average volume of the human brain has decreased from 1500 cubic centimetres to 1,350 cubic centimetres in the last 30,000 years. Scientists are not sure why are brains are getting smaller although there are some theory's of it being more efficient as we evolve. But what will we look like in the future? Well let's start at the bottom.we have evolved over the years to have become less reliant on the need to climb and have favoured the ability to walk. So nature has been slowly shrinking our toes to the point where we can hardly hold a pen between them let alone a branch. Some Scientists believe that in the future we will not have our little toes as we only need to rely on out big toes for balance. Another theory is that we will be much taller. Over the last two centuries the average height of humans has increased by 10 centre meters. This is due to better nutrition available to us and being able to eat regularly.
But just because we could be taller doesn't mean that we will be stronger. Due to the increasing reliance on technology our muscles don't need to be as strong as they did. So the more our machines work for use the less we need to do resulting in a weaker race of humans. Over thousands of years humans have been slowly losing there hair. There are a number of different causes for this but one main reason is that human men are attracted to less hairy women. Meaning that women's body's could be a lot bolder in the future. Also the fact that we tend to wear clothes to keep us warm now has meant that there is no need for a big fluffy fur coat. But I think the strangest of all the changes that might happen to our bodies is our face. Scientists predict that in a few million years humans may have flat faces, big round eye and small noses. But by the time all of these changes have occurred, the future homo sapiens will look back at there ancestors and think we were the weird looking humans just like we do to our ancestors. So I think one thing that we all must remember from time to time is that we might be able fly thousands miles in a plane or perform extremely complicated operations. But at the end of the day Mother Nature is still looking out us. Mother Nature still has a part to play.

I hope you enjoyed this video and make sure you checkout some of my other stuff. Leave a comment if you have any ideas about what we will eventually evolve in to or if you just want to discuss this subject. Thanks for watching and il see you next time.

Jerry Coyne, a professor of Ecology and Evolution at the University of Chicago and author of the seminal book, Why Evolution is True, is one of the world's most eloquent defenders of evolutionary science in the face of legal, religious, and cultural opposition. In this talk, Coyne explored the evidence for evolution, why Americans are so resistant to accepting the theory, and what can be done to make the country more evolution-friendly.

Keep in mind this is by no means EVERY transitional form, if I used each and every transitional species this video would probably be at least 3 or 4 times longer. I also show approximately when the organism lived and details on the organism where such details are important.

http://facebook.com/ScienceReason ... AronRa reveals a controversial new taxonomy stating that humans and other apes not only evolved directly from monkeys, but that we are in fact still monkeys right now.

Turns out we DID come from monkeys!

In an earlier video, AronRa listed many of the taxonomic traits identifying humans as primates. In another video, he also explained why we are more specifically classified as a species of apes. But he deliberately omitted an intermediate stage between those two apparent levels, because its one that evokes so much resistance it really requires separate discussion just for that one grade alone.

No-one argues whether were vertebrates or placental mammals, even though that also means were animals. The fact that were apes can now be verified just as easily. For a while, most people thought the word, ape referred only to extant non-human pongids also known as great apes. There was no consideration given to lesser apes, nor to any of the many ancient apes we kept finding fossils for. Mainstream science sources are just now starting to realize that the word, ape means a lot more than just chimpanzees, gorillas, and orangutans, and that it includes a few extinct hominids that are more humanoid than any of these.

So there was a problem with our old method of classification, and it had to be fixed. Over the last two hundred and fifty years, weve kept patching up the original seven-layer system by adding a suborder, infraorder, superfamily, subgenus, and so on - til we cant even tell how to rank the labels anymore. Thats when we figured out that there are no ranks! So we dropped the labels and found a new system, one that isnt so arbitrary. See, the problem with Linnaean taxonomy is that some of it is subjective. Its usually based on morphological similarity, and sometimes on opinion, and loathsome opinions at that. There's often no way to prove whether Linnaean classification was even correct because he didn't rely on the rigid sort of rules that phylogenetics does.

We used to say that men didnt evolve from apes, but that men and apes shared a common ancestor. Now we have a better understanding of what an ape is, and that our common ancestor actually would have been classified as such, and so should we be. This rule of monophyletic hierarchy should apply to everything including the race of cat-people from the science fiction comedy, Red Dwarf.

Creationists try to ridicule evolution through the implication that we came from monkeys, and those who know the difference are quick to point out that apes are not monkeys. For one thing, apes dont have tails. But theres more to it than that. For example, we can tell that a Barbary ape isnt really an ape, its a tailless monkey; the same way we can tell that a glass snake isnt really a snake; its a legless lizard. There are so many distinctions that even if we found a snake that had legs, (and we have) wed still know it was a snake.

But snakes are a subset of the order, Squamata; That means lizard. If snakes evolved from lizards, do they stop being lizards at the moment they become snakes? And when exactly is that moment? It turns out this is another confusing convention in Linnaean taxonomy which is corrected by cladistics. Paraphyletic groups shouldnt exist in phylogenetics, nor would systematic classification permit the emergence of new species to add another equivalent category. Instead existing branches split into successive subsets that are each monophyletic, sharing a common line of descent from which they can diverge but never detach. This means snakes will always be a subset of lizards and apes would still be monkeys.

It's merely an interesting and beautiful variation rather than a worrisome thing, said Dr. Michael Treece, a St. Luke's Hospital pediatrician. I would be tempted to leave those fingers in place. I realize children would tease each other over the slightest things, and having extra digits on each hand is more than slight. But imagine what sort of a pianist a 12-fingered person would be. Imagine what sort of a flamenco guitarist. If nothing else, think of their typing skills.

📺 Human evolution or extinction

Human evolution or extinction by CMIcreationstation
Research in recent years by leading (evolutionist) geneticists has revealed catastrophically high mutation rates in humans. This would be a good thing if mutations really cause upward evolution. Instead the human race is plunging toward extinction. Based on data from genetics humans could not have been evolving for millions of years, we would already be extinct.
